Welcome to Osan Elementary School!
Osan American Elementary School is located in South Korea on Osan Air Base.
Osan Elementary School is a state of the art, 21st Century building. It is a 131,181 square foot facility designed to accommodate approximately 550-600 students in Prekindergarten (PK) through Fifth Grade.
The 21st century facility is designed with six neighborhoods with grades Kindergarten through Fourth Grade containing six Learning Studios that surround a shared Learning Hub. Fifth Grade has four Learning Studios.
OES has evolved over time from the traditional classroom of the 19th century consisting of one teacher with a room full of students, sitting in individual desks all facing forward to the open-plan learning environment with various seating arrangements.
The learning environment allows for adaptable and flexible spaces to accommodate changes within the school and to provide opportunities for all learning styles.
Students will have many opportunities to have access to technology applications; updated hardware and software in computer labs, learning studios or hubs, and information centers; updated school wiring and Internet access; integration of technology into the academic content standards; project-based learning opportunities; technical support personnel at the school level; and a security system that protects and encourages use of equipment.
It is important that all students demonstrate technology skills appropriate to their grade level. Students are expected to acquire technology skills through authentic learning opportunities and using applicable technology.
COMMUNITY STRATEGIC PLAN (CSP) GOALS
Academic Goal: OES will increase student achievement across the curriculum through DoDEA standards-based instruction and interrelating content that will directly impact students in a 21st century environment.
Organizational Goal: OES will utilize 21st century instructional practices, CCRSM implementation, collaboration, and communication for continual success in a 21st century learning environment.
